There are seven markers out in Lowndes County that I know of. One is Waverly which is posted on my Lowndes page, one is the above and the others are linked below. The rest are in the city limits of Columbus and one is in Caledonia.
I was finally able to get a decent picture of the one above after the bush was trimed back. This one is located at the intersection of Anderson Grove Road and Highway 12 East.
Bethel Presbytetian Church that is linked below was destroyed (church, not the marker) by one of three tornados that came through Lowndes County on November 10, 2002. |
